Strategic Marketing Manager

Cosgrove Partners is a strategic consulting firm focused on accelerating profitable growth for lower middle-market clients in the industrial sector, specifically distribution and manufacturing industries. We partner with B2B businesses to develop and execute high-impact marketing strategies, drive demand, and optimize channel and brand performance. We are looking for a Strategic Marketing Manager to join our team and lead client engagements with a mix of strategic insight, marketing expertise, and hands-on execution.

Overview

As a Strategic Marketing Manager, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering marketing strategies for our industrial clients. You will work across multiple accounts, helping distribution and manufacturing businesses better understand their markets, position their offerings, and execute marketing programs that generate measurable business outcomes. You will be a part of a dynamic team that is passionate about the intersection of direction and execution.

Key Responsibilities

Client Strategy & Advisory

  • Serve as the primary marketing advisor for multiple client accounts in industrial, electrical, distribution, or manufacturing sectors.

  • Lead the development of client-specific marketing strategies aligned to business goals, growth targets, and competitive positioning.

  • Conduct market research, customer segmentation, and go-to-market planning tailored to each client’s unique business model and sales structure.

  • Establish key performance indicators and metrics to set goals for all Go-To-Market strategies and measure the ROI of tactics and initiatives

  • Collaborate cross-functionally (CP internal and client facing) with leadership and execution level professionals from data and business intelligence, sales, human resources, operations leaders and more.

Campaign & Program Execution

  • Design and oversee implementation of multi-channel campaigns including digital, traditional marketing, events, channel/partner marketing, and new product launches.

  • Collaborate with CP, contractor and client based creative, digital and data teams to deliver assets and campaigns on time and within budget.

  • Measure and report performance across campaigns, using data to drive continuous improvement.

Industrial Sector Expertise

  • Bring deep knowledge of B2B marketing within industrial, commercial distribution, or manufacturing contexts.

  • Help clients develop compelling value propositions, technical messaging, and differentiated positioning.

  • Advise clients on how to engage buyers, channel partners, and field sales teams more effectively.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with client stakeholders at the executive and operational levels.

  • Lead regular strategy sessions, presentations, and performance reviews with client teams.

  • Identify opportunities to expand the scope of services and deepen client partnerships.

Content & Sales Enablement

  • Oversee creation of client-branded marketing collateral, sales tools, case studies, white papers, and thought leadership content.

  • Design and build comprehensive presentation decks that highlight client offerings as well as performance against marketing metrics

  • Ensure alignment between marketing messages and sales objectives, including distributor and OEM partner strategies.

Qualifications and Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in B2B marketing, preferably in a consulting, agency, or client-side role focused on distribution or manufacturing sectors.

  • Proven success developing and executing marketing strategies across multiple clients or product lines.

  • Consistent track record of building and retaining client relationships with multiple stakeholders

  • Proficiency with marketing platforms and creative software (Active Campaign, SEM Rush, Google Analytics and Ads, Squarespace, Canva etc.)

  • Experience presenting to C-level stakeholders and leading marketing engagements in a client-service environment.

  • Project management experience and account management experience

  • Understanding of the industrial buying process, value chains, and channel dynamics (distributors, reps, OEMs) preferred not required

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.) preferred not required

  • Flexibility with travel up to 10 days per month

·       Comfortability and openness to learning new skills or using new software platforms, AI resources, etc.
